For each client, orientation begins with a tour of the premises and introductions to the staff, to other clients, and to any volunteers or placement students who may be on site.

Within a reasonable period of time, a primary counselor is assigned to each client, to serve as the principal source of information about how Vitanova operates—to help the client understand its policies and procedures, including the daily schedule, general housekeeping procedures, and assigned chores—all the things the clients need to be comfortable within this new environment.
